Diaspora: Kenyan Shot Dead In Essex
A student with three jobs, Kenyan immigrant Joram Shijenje was searching for the American dream. But his life ended Tuesday morning with a bullet. Shijenje was murdered in front of his own home, in the 1100 block of Tace Drive in Essex.
He had just gotten off from work and was talking to his brother on a cell phone as he exited his car. “Then all of a sudden..hello?!…I couldn’t get hold of him.”
Joram’s brother Gilbert Imbayi heard a noise on the other end, but nothing from Joram. Just minutes later a friend called with the horrifying news—his brother was dead. Cpl. Mike Hill of the Baltimore County Police Department says they are searching for clues.
“Right now, no info, or motive for why anyone would have shot this man.” Anyone with information is urged to contact Baltimore County Police.
